Charity Leigh Rhodes and Johnnie Thomas Page III, both of Wilson, were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Nov. 17, 2012, at Rock Springs Center in Greenville. The Rev. Chris Jenkins was the officiating minister.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Paula Shreves of Grifton and Mike Shreves of Winterville. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Felix Harper, who lived in Grifton; and honorary grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Craft of Grifton.
A 2006 graduate of North Lenoir High School, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 2010 from Mount Olive College. She is in financial aid assistance with Wilson Community College.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Thomas Page Jr. of Wilson. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clay Braswell, who lived in Wilson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Page, who lived in Stantonsburg.
A graduate of Hunt High School, he is a salesman with East Coast Equipment in Wilson.
The bride wore an Oleg Cassini strapless gown of bridal ivory with a draped satin bodice. The slightly dropped waist featured a beaded embroidered detail, ball gown skirt with allover beaded lace trim.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple resides in Wilson.
Her chapel-length veil was trimmed with satin. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of mixed passion gerbers, orange Queen Alstromeria and tara gold Solidago, wrapped in sheer ivory bisque ribbon with pearl accents.
Leigh Tolar of Kinston was matron of honor.
Stephanie White of Kinston served as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Tracie Williams of Kinston, cousin of the bride; Denise Pope of Grifton; and Traci Ashley of Clayton, sister of the groom.
Macy Williams of Kinston, the bride’s cousin, was flower girl.
The groom’s father served as his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Grayson Shreves of Grifton, brother of the bride; Douglas Daniel of Sims; James Sharp of Kenly; and Richard Aycock of Stantonsburg.
James Ashley of Clayton, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.
Wedding music was provided by Brittanie Taylor of Kinston, pianist; Bob Jeffoctt of Kinston, trumpeter; and Ginger Johnson of Kinston and Jordan Rouse of Mount Olive, vocalists.
The wedding was directed by Nichole Reason.
Register attendant was JoElla Wooten of Kinston, cousin of the bride.
Program attendants were Katie Jo Wooten of Kinston, cousin of the bride, and Davis Ashley of Clayton, nephew of the groom.
Reception/parties
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Rock Springs Center. Greeting guests were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Graham Knott Jr. of Kinston. Cake servers were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Thigpen, aunt and uncle of the bride, and the bride’s aunt, Betty Brothers.
A reception dance was given by Paula Shreves, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Graham Knott Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Reynolds, Virginia Knott, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Grady, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Andrews, and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Pittman.
On Aug. 4, a sunset cruise aboard the Marlin Fever out of Morehead City was given by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Aycock, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Daniel, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Daniel, and Mr. and Mrs. James Sharp.
On Aug. 12, a Pampered Chef shower was given by Tracie Williams and Leigh Tolar at the Williams home in Kinston.
On Sept. 6, a bachelor weekend was held in Las Vegas.
On Sept. 15, a monogram shower was given by Debbie Foss, Ginger Johnson, Marilyn Rouse and Marie Gerrans at the Rouse home in Kinston.
On Sept. 21, a bachelorette weekend was held in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
On Oct. 7, a Christmas shower was given by Diane Page and Traci Ashley at the Page home in Wilson.
On Oct. 20, a cocktail party was given by Mr. and Mrs. Ron Vance, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Warren, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Speziale at the Speziale home in Wilson.
On Nov. 16, a bridesmaids’ luncheon given by the bride’s aunt, Jo Thigpen, and the bride’s cousin, JoElla Wooten, was held at A Tavola in Greenville.
On Nov. 16, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at the Rock Springs Jockey Club.
