Garriss – Maroules

Leslie Anne Garriss and Louis Matthew Maroules, both of Kinston, were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. June 1, 2013, at the North Carolina Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores. Hank Jarman, pastor, officiated the ceremony.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Mike and Rose Garriss of La Grange. She is the granddaughter of Felix Rouse of Grifton and Janice Sellers of Kinston.

A graduate of Arendell Parrott Academy and a 2010 graduate of ECU, she is the office manager at Garriss Body Shop.

The groom is the son of Christopher Maroules Jr. of New Bern, and Carl and Louise Edwards of Morehead City. He is the grandson of Carolyn Paderick of Morehead City and Christine Maroules of Kinston.

A graduate of the Lenoir County Schools system, he attended Pitt Community College. He is the manager of Christopher’s Café in Kinston.

Following a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple resides in Kinston.

The bride’s sister, Carrie Nicholson of Ayden, was matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Erin Hill and Jentry Hawkins, both of Raleigh; Cross Kelley and Jaclyn Ervin, both of Wilmington; Blair Taft of Greenville; and Morgan Dail of Snow Hill.

McKinley Blake of Snow Hill was flower girl.

Laddie Crisp of Kinston served as best man.

Groomsmen were the groom’s father and step-father; brothers of the groom, Nick Maroules of Birmingham, Ala., Jordan Maroules of Morehead City, and Jess Edwards of Kinston; and Aaron McArthur of Greenville.

The bride’s nephews, Tanner and Stokes Nicholson of Ayden, were ring bearers.

Wedding music was provided by Marvin Buck, guitarist, and Stephanie Fagan, violinist.

The wedding was directed by Evelyn Mozingo.

Register and program attendants were PJ Fidler and Natalie Hamstead, respectively.

 

Reception/parties

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the North Carolina Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores.

Jan. 18-20, the bridesmaids hosted a bachelorette weekend in Boone.

On May 4, a bridal shower was given by family and friends of the bride at the bride’s parent’s home in La Grange.

May 10-12, the groomsmen hosted a bachelor weekend in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

On May 27, an engagement shower was given by Dickie and Sharon Hawkins, Jeff and Kim Bell, and Kevin and Jentry Albritton in Emerald Isle.

On May 31, a bridesmaids’ luncheon was given by Nelson and Myra Dawson at Rucker John’s in Emerald Isle. Later that evening, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Coral Bay Club in Atlantic Beach.
