Katie Carter Moody and Tyler Nathan Andrews, both of Trenton, were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Chinquapin Chapel Baptist Church in Trenton. The Rev. Neil Hearn performed the ceremony.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Sue Carter Moody of Kinston and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Moody, also of Kinston.
A graduate of Lenoir Community College, she received a degree in Healthcare Management from Pitt Community College; she is a medical secretary at Kinston Urological Associates.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony B. Andrews of Trenton. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Andrews, also of Trenton.
A graduate of Lenoir Community College and East Carolina University; he is a logger with Anthony B. Andrews Logging and president of Andrews Brothers Inc.
Following a wedding trip to Oahu, Hawaii, North Shore and Turtle Bay, the couple resides in Trenton.
The bride wore a silhouette form fitting gown; corded lace in the bodice gave way to a skirt of voluminous tulle. Finishing touches included a sweetheart neckline, Swarovski crystals and corset back closure. She wore a veil with matching Swarovski crystals; and carried a bouquet of white roses with pearl accents.
Monica Rae Foss, sister of the bride, of Grifton served at matron of honor.
Bridesmaids included Casey Lee of Kinston; the groom’s cousin, Courtney Stroud of Trenton; and Candace Andrews, sister-in-law of the groom, also of Trenton.
The bride’s sisters, Allison Moody and Hope Moody, both of Kinston, were junior bridesmaids.
Abigail Raye Foss, niece of the bride of Grifton, was flower girl.
The groom’s father served as his son’s best man.
Groomsmen included the groom’s brother, Garrett Andrews; and his cousins, Coty Stroud and Andrew Hill, all of Trenton.
The bride’s brother, Kam Moody of Kinston, was ring bearer.
Wedding music was provided by pianist and vocalist, Rebekah Bragan; and violinist, Krissy Billings.
The wedding was directed by Dana King.
Register and program attendants were Hannah Calfee and Laura Stafford respectively.
Reception/parties
Following the ceremony the couple’s parents hosted a reception at the New Bern County Club. Serving guests was Paula Smith.
On Dec. 15, 2013, a Christmas shower held at Gospel Light Baptist Church was hosted by the groom’s aunt, Monica Hill.
On May 24, an engagement party was hosted by the couple’s parents at Chinquapin Baptist Church.
On June 14, a Pampered Chef shower given by Sandy Braxton and Jeane Jones was held at Sandy’s Kitchen.
On July 12, a bridal shower was hosted by Sandy Braxton, Jeane Jones, Cammie Taylor, Judy Cummings and Jean Waters at Tanglewood Church of God.
On July 25, a monogram shower was given by co-workers of the bride at Kinston Urological Associates.
On Aug. 3, a miscellaneous shower was held at Chinquapin Chapel Church by the ladies of the church.
Aug. 22-24, a bachelorette weekend, hosted by the bridesmaids, was held at Pebble Beach in Emerald Isle.
On Sept. 5, a bridesmaid’s luncheon was held at Our Picnic Basket; that evening, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Chinquapin Chapel Church.
