Jessica Conner Jordan of Kinston and Daniel Grant Chewning of Goldsboro were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at Tanglewood Church of God. The Rev. Virgil Allen Stocks officiated the ceremony.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rod Harvey Vinson of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Huff Wilson Conner of Kinston and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Rose Vinson of Seven Springs; and the Goddaughter of her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Brent Sutton.

She is a teacher at Southwood Elementary School.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Thomas Chewning of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Norwood Daniels Sr. also of Goldsboro.

He is employed with Southeastern Laboratories in Goldsboro.

Following a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Kinston.

The bride wore a stunning ball gown combining soft tulle and delicate lace. The strapless, fitted bodice featured lace, a sweetheart neckline and Swarovski crystal detail at the natural waistline. The back of the gown featured covered buttons and clusters of crystals and pearls that flowed down to the extended Royal train. Her fingertip length veil with matching beadwork and soft tulle completed the ensemble. She carried a bouquet designed by Cheryl’s Floral Designs in Goldsboro.

Lindsey Nichol Vinson, sister of the bride of Kinston was maid of honor.

The groom’s sister, Courtney Chewning Keesee of Goldsboro served as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids included Kayla Sutton, cousin of the bride; Maegan Malpass; Anna Hill; Morgan Heath; Samantha Parker; Bethany Fillippeli; Ashley Jarman; and Kaci Turner.

Grace Daniels, cousin of the groom of Goldsboro was flower girl.

The groom’s father served as his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Brandon Voyles; Cliff Wilson; Jordan Carr; Tyler Sutton and Wilson Sutton, cousins of the bride; Scott Boyette Jr.; Daniel Thompson; Kenneth Keesee, the groom’s brother-in-law; and Nickoli Rosinski.

The groom’s cousin, James Daniels of Goldsboro was ring bearer.

Wedding music was provided by pianist, Timothy Derek Maddox; violinist Dee Braxton-Pellegrine; and vocalists, Jay Nelson Kornegay and Lindsey Blair Mozingo.

The groom’s cousin, Jeremiah James Daniels read scripture.

The wedding was directed by Daphne Jones Pollock.

Register attendants were Tara Davis and Chloe Davis.

Program attendants were Anna Daniels and Katie Williams.

 

Reception/parties

Following the ceremony the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Walnut Creek County Club. Greeting guests were Mr. and Mrs. Therman Malpass.

An engagement party was given by Mr. and Mrs. Larry Chewning, parents of the groom, and Mr. and Mrs. James Norwood Daniels Sr., the groom’s grandparents.

A monogram shower was hosted by Bethany and Christi Fillippeli, Lisa and Maegan Malpass, and Jill Croom.

A miscellaneous shower was hosted by Michelle Sutton, Ruby Conner, Linda Vinson, Lisa Davis, and Henrietta Shepherd.

A stock the bar party was given by Tyler Sutton, Kayla Sutton, and Will Sutton.

A shrimp boil was hosted by Jimmy and Kathy Daniels, Jeff and Sue Daniels, Teri and Steve Chewning, and Charlie and Hannah Rouse.

A gift card shower was given by co-workers at Southeastern Laboratories.

A bridesmaid’s luncheon was hosted by Karen and Anna Hill.

A rehearsal dinner and dance was hosted by the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Chewning at Walnut Creek Country Club.
