Radford — Towery

Darylanne Radford and Charles Thomas Towery, Jr. of Burlington were united in marriage at 5 p.m. September 6, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Kinston. The groom’s father, Charles Thomas Towery Sr. officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Lori Smith Winter of La Grange and Daryl Radford of Trenton. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Radford of La Grange, and of the late Viola Best Elmore and William W. Smith who lived in Kinston. The bride’s aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer E. Daughety Jr. of Hookerton served as honorary grandparents.

The bride is a 2010 graduate of North Lenoir High School. She attended Louisburg College and is a 2014 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BS in Community and Therapeutic Recreation with a minor in Recreation Therapy. She is employed with Alamance County Schools.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles “Chuck” Thomas Towery Sr. of Florida, formerly of Kinston. He is the grandson of Katie Biggers of Goldsboro and the late Lou Banks Biggers Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Towery who lived in Shelby. The groom is a 2009 graduate of Kinston High School. He received a BS in Computer Science from Winston Salem State University in 2013. He is a systems analyst at Southland Electrical Company in Burlington.

Following a wedding trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, the couple resides in Burlington.

The bride wore a stunning champagne and ivory strapless gown designed with an intricately beaded Venice lace bodice and corset detailing. The voluminous ball gown featured an ornamented skirt of organza lace. Her double tier fingertip length veil adorned with beaded clusters of crystals and floral motif accents completed the ensemble.

Kimberly Winter, sister of the bride of Kinston, served as matron of honor.

Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Emily House of La Grange.

Bridesmaids included the groom’s sisters, Kate Towery of Burlington and Megan Towery of Boone; Bethany Fillippeli, Marissa Lanier and Lauren Wiggins, of Kinston; and Carri Radford of La Grange.

Sarah Boyette of Kinston served as flower girl.

Cole Kratzer of Raleigh served as best man. Groomsmen were the bride’s brother, Paul Watson of Trenton, Tyler Harris of Saxaphaw, Andy Towery and Hayes Towery of Utah, James Towery of Florida, and Chris Watts of Burlington.

Ushers were Jake Aldridge of Garner, Spencer McClung of Hookerton, Zach Mitchell of Snow Hill, and Chastin Radford of La Grange.

Ring bearers were Kamden Winter and Seth Winter of Kinston.

Maggie Aldridge of Garner was guest register attendant.

Wedding music was provided by Tim Price, organist and Mahala Killette, soloist.

Wedding planner was Mary Worthington and Melissa McClung served as director.

Reception/parties:

Following the ceremony, the parents of the bride hosted a reception at the Hampton Inn in Kinston. Guests were greeted by Billye Harris, aunt of the groom. Mr. and Mrs. Will Price of Burlington served as bridal book hosts for the evening.

On March 29, 2014, a Monogram Party hosted by Wendy Wiggins and Lauren Wiggins was given in Kinston. Also on March 29, 2014, an engagement cookout was given by Daryl Radford and Beth Walston in La Grange.

On June 1, 2014, a miscellaneous shower was given by Christi and Bethany Fillippeli and Jane and Maririssa Lanier at the Fillippeli home in Kinston.

On July 12, 2014, a Lawn and Garden Party hosted by Billye Harris and Kate Towery was given for the couple in Burlington.

On August 3, 2014, a bachelorette weekend was hosted by Kimberly Winter and Sherry Tanner in Charleston, S.C.

On September 5, 2014, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at First Baptist Church.
