Taylor — Bowen

Elizabeth Briley Taylor of Winterville and Henry “Hank” Bowen of Williamston were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Jan. 10, 2015, at The Memorial Baptist Church in Greenville. The Rev. Luis Miranda performed the ceremony.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill and Christine Taylor of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Buddy and Clara Taylor of Kinston and the late Mr. and Mrs. George and Darlene Howard who lived in Kinston.

A 2006 graduate of Arendell Parrott Academy, she received both a bachelor’s degree in 2010 and master’s degree in 2012 from ECU. She is a Speech-Language Pathologist with Careworks, Inc.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie and Fran Bowen of Williamston. He is the grandson of Ann Bowen of Williamston and the late Irvin Bowen; Dr. Benjamin Tucker, also of Williamston and the late Hannah Tucker.

A 2000 graduate of Williamston High School; he received both a bachelor’s degree in 2004 and master’s degree in 2008 from ECU.

He is the coordinator for first-year programs at ECU.

Following a wedding cruise to St. Maarten, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Grand Turk, the couple resides in Winterville.

The bride wore an ivory strapless A-line gown adorned with re-embroidered lace over tulle accented with a jeweled belt. The gown featured a corset back that flowed into a chapel length train; both edged with a wide scalloped lace. Makeup and hair for the bride and mother of the bride were done by Jennifer Marie Miller.

Matron of honor was Caroline Whitley Murphrey of Moss Hill.

Ashley Kae Abel of Greenville served a maid of honor.

Bridesmaids included Elizabeth Ashley Heath, Teresa Gail Heath and Taylor Lynn Keen, all of Raleigh; Patricia Jeanine Beavers of Bear Creek; Amber Elaine Inscoe of Wilson; Kayla Marie Foy of Kinston; Mary Frances Bowen, sister of the groom of Williamston; and Courtney Jackson Lambert of Mount Olive.

The groom’s father served as his son’s best man.

Groomsmen included Justin Eric Stroud, William “Briley” Taylor III brother of the bride, and Cecil Pierce Taylor, all of Kinston; Dylan Ray Simmons of St. Mary’s, Ga.; and David Tyler Williams of Seven Springs.

Wedding music was provided by pianist Valeria Taylor and vocalist, Miranda Hill Wiggins.

Chandler Hamor and Jennifer Miller were scripture readers.

Register and program attendants were Erin Jones Williams and Samantha Eckert respectively.

Reception/parties

Following the ceremony the bride’s parents hosted a reception at 400 Saint Andrews in Greenville.

On Nov. 1, 2014, a wedding shower was given by Hilary Hardy Lucas, Kim Hardy, and Bailey Hardy at First Baptist Church in Deep Run.

On Nov. 23, 2014, a wedding shower was given by family and friends at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Williamston.

On Dec. 14, 2014, a monogram shower given by Caroline Whitley Murphrey, Susan Whitley and Alison Whitley was held at the home of Caroline Whitley Murphrey in Moss Hill.

On Jan. 3, a bridal luncheon given by Karen Keene, Clara Taylor, Taylor Keene and Valeria Taylor, was held at the Kinston Country Club.

On Jan. 9, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at RepExpress Catering in Greenville.
