Amy Lynn Muzychka and Derek Zane Chernault, both of Kinston, were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. June 1, 2013, at Walnut Creek Country Club in Goldsboro. The Rev. Rylan Jones performed the ceremony.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Danny and Dee Dee Muzychka of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Elton and Arlene White of Dover; the late Sam and Daria Muzychka, who lived in Kinston; and the late Stanley Tyndall, who lived in Snow Hill.
The bride received a Bachelor of Science degree in business management-finance from N.C. State University and a master’s in business administration from ECU. She is a practice management consultant with Carolina Professional Consultants.
The groom is the son of Gene and Frances Chernault of Appomattox, Va. He is the grandson of Curtis and Lula Hamlett of Brookneal, Va., and the late Russell and Gracie Chernault, who lived in Appomattox, Va.
A graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, he is a process engineer with Pactiv.
Following a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Kinston.
The bride wore a white Paris chiffon strapless gown adorned with a Swarovski crystal waist designed by Maggie Sottero. Delicate ruching accented the neckline, while side ruffles at the hip cascaded toward the hemline.
Her hand sewn fingertip-length veil with silver beaded vine border and cut edge completed the ensemble. She carried a hand tied bouquet of fuchsia colored roses.
Candace Beverly of Kinston served as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Karen Howard Boyette of Waldorf, Md.; Lillion Brown Chernault of Kinston, sister-in-law of the groom; Emily Sapp of Savannah, Ga.; and Elizabeth Thompson of Kinston.
Emma Sapp of Savannah, Ga., was flower girl.
The groom’s father served as his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were the groom’s brother, Craig Chernault of Kinston; Thomas Cooke of Kinston; Jeffrey Mercer of Beulaville; and the bride’s brother, Derek Muzychka of Savannah, Ga.
The wedding was directed by Judy Hailey of Total Package Events.
The bride’s cousin, Brooke Tyndall, was register attendant. Hayley Tyndall and Kyra Tyndall, also cousins of the bride, were program attendants.
Reception/parties
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Walnut Creek Country Club. Music was provided by DJ Chuck Kolb of CK Entertainment in New Bern.
On Dec. 8, Kim Tyndall, the bride’s aunt, and Brooke Tyndall, the bride’s cousin, hosted a monograms and mimosas shower at her aunt’s home in Kinston.
On Dec. 14, the bride’s family hosted an engagement party at the Community Council for the Arts in Kinston.
On April 20, Heather Mayberry, the groom’s cousin, and Deb Hamlett, the groom’s aunt, hosted a bridal shower at the home of the groom’s grandparents in Brookneal, Va.
On May 4, a bridal luncheon, hosted by the bride, was held at The Bistro at Duplin Winery in Rose Hill.
On May 11, Candace Beverly and Crystal Stafford hosted a bridal shower at the Southwood Volunteer Fire Department in Kinston.
On May 30, a shower was given by the bride’s co-workers at Carolina Professional Consultants in Kinston.
On May 31, the groom’s parents held at rehearsal dinner at The Folded Napkin in Kinston.
