Lenihan – Gatlin

Stephanie Anne Lenihan of Pink Hill and Joshua Aaron Gatlin of The Woodlands, Texas, were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 3, 2013, at Westminster United Methodist Church in Kinston. The Rev. T. R. Miller officiated the ceremony.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Dennis Lenihan and Sabrina Lenihan of Pink Hill. She is the granddaughter of Jo Ann Graves of Pink Hill and the late William Graves, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lenihan of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

She is a graduate of N.C. State University.

The groom is the son of Ronald Gatlin and Conas Gatlin of The Woodlands, Texas. He is the grandson of Dorothy Stoudermire or Orlando, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gatlin of Shreveport, La.

A graduate of N.C. State University, he is a structural engineer with Aeronautica.

Following a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Greenville, S.C.

The bride wore a strapless taffeta gown featuring a pick-up swirl skirt and empire waist with beaded appliqué detailing.

Her single tier, elbow-length veil featured a beaded edge. She carried a white long-stem calla lily bouquet.

The bride’s sister, Selina Shoaf of Pink Hill, was matron of honor.

Maid of honor was Alex Penrod of Powell, Ohio.

Bridesmaids were Megan Chambers of Powell, Ohio; the groom’s sister, Jaqueline Gatlin of Kenosha, Wis.; Teresa Heath of Deep Run; Mary-Katheryn Howard of Pink Hill; Kelsey Patterson of Birmingham, Ala.; and Rachel Stone of Dickinson, N.D.

The groom’s cousin, Alyssa Gatlin of Houston, Texas, was flower girl.

The groom’s brothers, Jon Gatlin and Jeremy Gatlin, both of The Woodlands, Texas, served as best men.

Groomsmen were Jarriel Miller and Jonathan Bagala, both of The Woodlands, Texas; Brian Trench and Mustafa Mannan, both of Raleigh; Justin Reed of Houston, Texas; and the groom’s cousin, Aaron Gatlin of Dallas, Texas.

The bride’s nephews, Brady Shoaf Jr. and Lucas Shoaf of Pink Hill, were ring bearers.

Wedding music was provided by Weil Sawyer, organist, and Tonya Quinn, vocalist.

The wedding was directed by Ann Robinson. Register attendant was Anne Axberg. Program attendants were Chad Graves and Eric Gatlin.

 

Reception/parties

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Kinston Country Club.

In October, Sue Novicki, Deborah Grimes and Deborah Sutton hosted a bridal shower.

In December, Selina Shoaf, Lynn Vinson and Teresa Murray hosted a bridal shower.

On Aug. 2, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner.

On Aug. 3, a bridesmaids’ brunch was given by Treva Brigman and Cindy Matthews.
