Unruh-Burkett

Kelsey Suzanne Unruh of Grifton and Dustin Ray Burkett of Kinston were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 14, 2013, at Myrtle Grove Plantation in Macclesfield. The Rev. Allen Ham was the officiating minister.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Unruh of Grifton. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harris Hortman of Rocky Mount and Mrs. Barbara Unruh of Grifton.

The bride is a 2010 graduate of Ayden-Grifton High School, and is a junior at ECU. She is employed with the Pitt County Community Schools and Recreation.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Burkett Jr. of Kinston. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Seymore, and Jesse Burkett Sr., all of Kinston.

A 2009 graduate of South Lenoir High School and a 2011 graduate of Wilson Technical College, he is a senior at Western Carolina University. He is an emergency planner and fire investigator for Lenoir County.

Following a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Grifton.

Lindsey Unruh of Greenville, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Nicole Burkett of Kinston, sister of the groom; Morgan Willcox of Rocky Mount, cousin of the bride; and Beth Frazier Smith of Jacksonville.

The groom’s father served as his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Gustavo Smith of Jacksonville; and Daniel Davis and Tyler Foyles, both of Kinston.

Wedding music was provided by violist, Claire Fowler of Greenville; and flutist, Rachel Hortman of Willow Springs, cousin of the bride.

The wedding was directed by Allison Willcox of Rocky Mount, cousin of the bride.

Register and program attendant was Rachel Hortman.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Myrtle Grove Plantation.
